Search using colors as keywords

Did you know you could search pharmaceutical ads by color on AdPharm?

Most of the ads in the gallery now have color tags. This can be useful when it’s time to decide on the colors for a new brand or when the time comes to create a new ad. To do this, you just type in the color name in the search box on any of the pages on AdPharm.

Depending on the color, you can get many results that don’t seem to apply. That’s because sometimes color names are within the copy of the ad. For example, the word “blue” could appear in an ad for depression therapy. Or “red” could appear many times because those three letters end many English words (i.e. “pressured, matured, rendered“). To prevent that, we added the suffix “_color” to the color keywords.

You can then search for colors using simply the color name, but if you get too wide a return as mentioned above, add “_color” after the color’s name (see “simple search box” and “Blue” figures) and your search results will be more accurate. If you are a registered user, you have access to the full ad information and the full-sized images, (see “ad info” figure). Many other clickable keywords can be found in the file information section which can lead you to some ads you would not have found otherwise.

Although AdPharm is a subscription-based advertising gallery, you don’t have to be a subscribed user to conduct a search. You will be able to see the result pages with thumbnails of the ads but you won’t have access to the intermediate nor the full-sized versions of the ads.

Follow us on Twitter for the occasional free Open-House with full access to the gallery, or visit our subscription page.
